The Compass of a Thousand Worlds

Epic battles, forgotten worlds, reluctant ordinary heroes, hidden romance and magic all combined into one fantasy novel. Hydra is an ordinary Elvan girl who is recruited into the palace guard. The crown demands that every elf serve in the royal guard for four years. This is the price for protection from the vicious Orks and Gorgons that have plagued their world for a thousand years. The Orks portaled into this world using a magical compass. Hydra comes from a modest background, but she has dormant powers of shapeshifting into a dragon and hidden legacy of being a lost princess of the Northern Isles. She rockets to fame after saving Prince Adrian from the Orks and befriends Tanya, who is a powerful fairy sorceress.

Tanya is a fairy like no other. The feisty redhead teams up with Hydra to defeat the Orks, plaguing their realm. Items of power that were put into play a thousand years ago are now coming to the forefront. Tanya’s ancestor left her clues on how to end the war between Elves and the Orks. Together, Hydra and Tanya travel to the Northern Isles to find magical key items to stop the war.

Along the way, Hydra has amazing adventures and battles against gorgons who are in cohorts with the Orks. She meets mermaids, shipping privateers, royalty and other fairies.

The race to the final battle begins. If they fail to defeat the Orks, the Orks will overtake the land, and Elven Kind will be enslaved or killed.

Another discovery is that magical creatures can communicate telepathically. When the elves defeat the Orks in the final battle, they send them back to the homeland using the compass as a portal. A mysterious voice appears in Hydra and Tanya’s head. This character is currently unknown in this book but will lead into the next book in “The Realm Series”.

The World of Embers
